Mahesh Babu's Aagadu has minted record collections on the first day at the Tollywood box office. Trade reports say that the action drama has raked in around 15 cr on the first day (including premier shows). Aagadu has collected 9.23 cr from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while it minted $ 915 k from US premier shows (nearly 5 cr)

The film has been second biggest opening for Telugu films in 2014 after Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daaredi. Sreenu Vaitla has directed Aagadu with Tamanna as the female lead and planned to repeat Dookudu success with SS Thaman combo.

A new "Aagadu" teaser has been released on the special occasion of superstar Mahesh Babu's birthday.

Mahesh Babu, who began his film career as a child artist, made his debut as the lead hero in the 1999-release "Raja Kumarudu." The actor's charming looks earned him the "chocolate boy" title. After doing several romantic entertainers, Mahesh turned into a mass action hero with films like "Pokkiri" and "Athidhi." Some of his notable films include "Dookudu", "Businessman", "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" and "Okkadu" among others.

Mahesh is currently working in "Aagadu" under Sreenu Vaitla's direction. The film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and is expected to be wrapped up soon.

"Aagadu" is touted to be an action entertainer with commercial elements like punch dialogues, action, romance, songs and comedy. The film will have the actor playing the role of a cop. Tamannaah has been paired opposite Mahesh for the first time. She will be appearingin the role of a village girl who runs a sweet shop. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Rajendra Prasad, Soonu Sood, Nadhiya, Brahmanandam, Sai Kumar and M.S. Narayana.

Shruti Haasan will be seen doing a special song in "Aagadu." The film is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara under 14 Reels Entertainment banner.

While locked down Kingfisher Airlines' chief Vijay Mallya brought a new celebrity colour to airline business in India, South's stunning celebrity and leading hero Ram Charan will be now taking it to an all new level. Surprising thing is that Cherry will be now venturing his fleet to fly high in the sky very soon, in months.

Along with his friend Vankayalapati Umesh, actor Ram Charan Tej Konidela will be now setting up his own regional airlines business that is named 'Turbo Megha'. Civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has given no-objection certificates for six new airlines including Charan's Turbo Megha, Air One Aviation, Zexus Air, Premier Air, Zav Airways and Air Carnival. These companies could now approach DGCA to proclaim an airliner licence to run the business. Though airline business in India took a steep fall post debacle of Kingfisher and Air Deccan, the arrival of low-cost Air Asia into the scene has once again triggered businessmen to invest in it.

2014 Commonwealth Games

The 2014 Commonwealth Games (officially the XX Commonwealth Games) will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

It is the fourth largest multi-sport event after the Olympics, the Asian Games, and the Maccabiah Games.

It will be the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland with around 4,560 competing athletes across 17 different sports, although the country previously hosted the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Over the last 10 years, however, Glasgow and Scotland had staged World, Commonwealth, European, or British events in all 17 sports proposed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, including the World Badminton Championships in 1997.^[1]

Telangana police to study policing in New York, London

A team of police officials from Telangana will soon visit New York and London to study their policing methods as part of the efforts to modernize the force in the new state, includingHyderabad.

Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy Thursday said the officials would undertake the visit after the current Ramadan and Bonalu festivals. The minister also plans to join the team if permitted by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao.

The home minister said as New York and London made wide use of CCTVs to control crime, the government planned to install 2,000 such cameras in Hyderabad.

He said the government would implement all decisions including changing the colour of the uniforms. The finance department has also cleared the procurement of 1,600 Innova vehicles for the police force. The vehicles will be equipped with GPS system, 4G internet, laptop, wireless and fire fighting system.

As per a decision taken last month by the chief minister, Hyderabad police personnel will shed their khaki uniform and don one in blue, akin to the United Nations security personnel.

The chief minister at a review meeting also decided to provide ultra-modern equipment and vehicles for better policing. He wanted the city police force to become as professional a force as the New York City police and the London police.

The government has also requested the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to undertake a study of the existing setup and suggest suitable changes.

298 PEOPLE WERE DIED IN MALAYSIAN FLIGHT

Santo Andre, Brazil: Germany have a secret plan to shut Argentina superstar Lionel Messi out of Sunday's World Cup final at Rio de Janeiro's iconic Maracana Stadium.

Assistant coach Hansi Flick said Thursday there is a "special plan" to cope with the four-time Ballon d'Or winner but refused to give details. (Argentina vs Germany: A 'battle' of two popes?)

Messi had a relatively quiet match against the Netherlands as Wednesday's semi-final was settled by penalties.

The 27-year-old was often greeted by two Oranje shirts in Sao Paulo and the Germans are also getting organized. (Five warnings for rampaging Germany)

"We saw how the Dutch managed to keep Messi out, but we too have a special plan for him -- although I won't give that away," said Flick.

"We're looking forward to meeting a compact, organised team and in Messi, they have one the outstanding players of the tournament.

"We know plenty about Argentina, Germany has to accept the role of favourites, but the final will write it's own script."

Defender Benedikt Hoewedes said the Germany defence will pay Messi the same close attention Cristiano Ronaldo received in the 4-0 rout of Portugal in the group stages.

"Messi is one of the best players in the world, but just as I said before the Portugal game when we faced Ronaldo, we have to defend as a team," said the left-back.

"We have to stifle his opportunities to score goal and create dangerous situations."

This is the sixth time Germany will meet Argentina at the World Cup and the second time in the final.

On their most recent meeting, Messi scored two years ago when Argentina enjoyed a 3-1 win over ten-man Germany in a Frankfurt friendly.

The Germans won the most recent World Cup meetings. They routed a Diego Maradona-coached Argentina 4-0 in Cape Town at South Africa 2010 after a quarter-final penalty shoot-out win in Berlin four years earlier.

Germany lost the Mexico 1986 final 3-2 to Argentina, then took revenge four years later by winning the Italia 1990 final 1-0 when Argentina finished with nine men in Rome.

Argentina legend Maradona played in both matches, but Germany's veteran striker Miroslav Klose said neither match has any relevance now.

"You can't really make comparisons, Maradona was one player, but Messi is just as fantastic and they are absolutely on par," said Klose.

"We have to come up with a few surprises of our own and I am just looking forward to an exciting game, which will be marked by tactics and a bit of trickery."

Flick warned Germany fans not to expect anything like Tuesday's remarkable 7-1 semi-final rout of Brazil, especially after Argentina's penalty shoot-out win against the Dutch.

"It's going to be a completely different game to the semi-final," said Flick.

The Argentina-Netherlands semi-final "was a tactical match, both teams neutralised each other.

"The theme of the game was two excellent defences and not every match can be as spectacular as Germany-Brazil," said Flick.
